The iMac G5 was a gift from my then-wife, the mother of my children. In the years preceding my return to the Apple ecosystem, I used to spend quite some time in a local Apple dealer to see how Appleโ€™s Mac was evolving. I did countless visits experimenting with Mac OS and slowly fell back in love with the Mac.

After getting my new iMac setup, I remember transferring my iTunes library from my Windows PC to the Mac and plugging my 2003 20 GB iPod for the first time. It felt like magic and very satisfying. iTunes was really the first of many use cases for my new Mac back then.

My story with this iMac was abruptly interrupted by a robbery in my house in the summer of 2007. A few weeks before the launch of the redesigned aluminum iMac. Rumours were rampant, and I asked my insurance company if I could wait a few weeks before replacing my stolen machine. They didnโ€™t see any issue with my request. This is how I upgraded to the first aluminum iMac, which I owned for quite some time, but this is for another episode.
