Question of the week: are we Apple fanatics? This question comes to my mind when I’m reading this provoking article from Niko Kitsakis: “[The “almost” device](https://www.nubero.ch/blog/005/?ref=numericcitizen.me)”. I have to wonder if this is the case sometimes. Here is why.

Niko Kitsakis writing:

> if the iPad really was that good, wouldn’t that be a rather self-evident fact then? Would you need an article (or several dozen actually, published over the course of nine years) that tried to convince you of the merits of such a device?

What event prompted him to write this? This is probably related to this article from Federico Viticci “[Beyond the Tablet: Seven Years of iPad as My Main Computer](https://www.macstories.net/stories/beyond-the-tablet/?ref=numericcitizen.me)”. Viticci sums it up this way:

> For the past seven years, I’ve considered the iPad my main computer. Not my only one, and not the most powerful one I own, but the computer which I use and enjoy using the most.

My own take? Viticci loves the iPad. It is a well known fact if you happen to be on Twitter and follow him there. Personally, I don’t have any problem with this guy. I admire his work and his passion about all things Apple. I wish I could do a fraction of what this guy is doing. But my question is simple: as Apple enthusiasts, are acting like fanatics?

People who knows me are aware of my feelings for all things related to Apple. I’m a big fan since 1982\. A really big part of my life, of my attention is directed to Apple. I used to try to convince people around me on how great Apple tech is. That was a few years ago. Since then, my tone and attitude change to something more balanced. Do whatever you want. I don’t care. I wish everybody would love Apple technologies but that is not possible, *and this is ok*.

To sum it up: do what you love, own what is worth to you. And let others live their own destiny.
