At IBM: Mac vs PC

At IBM: Mac vs PC must have been an intense discussion subject in recent years. Tidbits is reporting today: “IBM Finds Its Mac Users to Be More Productive Than PC Users“. In particular, something caught my attention:

The study also found greater employee satisfaction and retention. Mac users are 17% less likely to leave the company than Windows users, and Mac users are happier with the third-party software availability within the company, with only 5% of Mac users asking for additional software, compared to 11% of Windows users.

Apple products at work

As reported today, IBM is relying on more than 290 000 Apple devices in the company. An internal IBM study seems to confirm my own sentiment towards being able to use an Apple device at work (or event using many Apple devices at work). As some would be influenced by the availability of Apple’s CarPlay when it comes the time to buy a brand new car, I do pay attention if the company allows Apple’s Mac computers in their office.

I recently started to use a 2017 MacBook Pro at the office and I couldn’t be happier. I feel more comfortable, more productive as I use the right tool for the right tasks. There are so many things much easier done on the Mac than on Windows PC. I do love Windows 10 but I love macOS even more. It may be because of the type of work I need to accomplish. I do a lot of presentation stuff, I do write a lot of documents with technical drawings. Being able to move things around between my devices is also very useful. All in all, I’m a happy camper. πŸ˜ƒ
