Ambience

This photo was taken with my 70-200 mm Nikon lens that I recently bought. This is close to my house, in front of a park. There is something strange to this one that I like. This is the kind of photo that I couldn’t take before with my 20 mm wide angle lens. Right now I just don’t have enough time to go out for a photo walk but my summer vacations are rapidly approaching. Can’t wait.

  1. Looking again, something about the light glow in the lamp contrasted against the lamp’s solid blackness…light is the focus…follow the photons!

  2. I like this one too. Something about it. Nice lighting. I would go back to the park at dusk and reframe the same basic shot and experiment to make it better. Less sky maybe…more foreground maybe…subtle colors or dynamic range between light and shadow maybe… In the process, you’ll likely figure out what you like about it, what makes it work. It has an element working for sure.

    1. The environment in this place is full of small buildings and houses… the framing was done this way in order to make them disappear. This explains in part the “lot of sky”… plus the rule of thirds. 🙂
