Bye Bye Momento for iOS

You could sync from many sources and create journal entries automatically

I’ve was a big fan of a few years ago as I could sync my social network accounts to this app in order to keep a copy of what I was posting. But this app lacked a few important and timely updates over the years. As of this writing, the iPad version is still missing in action. And recently they started to use the subscription model as the application notes state on iTunes / App Store:

Upgrade to a Momento Premium auto-renewing subscription for $2.49/month or $16.49/year, or a Momento Premium Gold auto-renewing subscription for $37.99/year. Momento will automatically charge your iTunes Account at the end of your subscription or free trial period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of your current period. You can turn off auto-renew at any time and still receive full functionality until the end of your current period, but no refunds can be provided for unused portions of the subscription. Subscriptions can be managed and auto-renewal can be turned off by going to Account Settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial period will be forfeited if any subscription in Momento is otherwise purchased. Subscriptions cannot be shared using Family Sharing.

This is an important change and they didn’t bother to explain that on their blog. Time to move on I guess. Stay tuned on this subject of journaling because I have something really cool coming up here. 🙂
